Mbappe’s plan: He will decide his future next week

Kylian Mbappe will attend the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionels (UNFP) gala on Sunday, but he is not expected to reveal his future plans despite rumours suggesting that he will do so.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward may drop a few hints for the media, but he doesn’t have the intention to reveal where he will be playing next season.

“I think it’s time to take more responsibility,” Mbappe said in the past amidst interest from Real Madrid.

“Maybe I’ll be happy in Paris, but maybe somewhere else, with a new project, too.”

Mbappe will decide next week
The next few days will be key to Mbappe’s final decision. Although it will be him who decides his future, the France international will consult all the people he trusts and plan how to communicate that decision to all parties, as well as the fans.

Real Madrid are the favourites to sign Mbappe, with Los Blancos being certain that he will move to the Spanish capital this summer. The 23-year-old has always been their No.1 target and neither the signing bonus nor the image rights are issues anymore.

As for Real Madrid’s project, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have demonstrated that they are Champions League contenders by reaching this year’s final.

The PSG situation
PSG’s options have always been based on offering Mbappe a solid sporting project. It is not a question of money, but of getting the right coach or getting rid of a number of certain players. The task is very complicated, because of the contracts and statuses of some of the players involved.

PSG have been trying relentlessly to convince Mbappe to stay with all kinds of political pressure, financial offers, contract formulas, etc.

However, in five years they have not managed to be what Mbappe may have expected them to be. Despite his affection for the club and the city, the Frenchman wants to lift the Champions League trophy more than anything else.

Real Madrid are expecting him to do so, and they also believe that he was born to win the Ballon d’Or.
